What are cardiovascular diseases (CVDs)?
As defined by WHO, CVDs "are a group of disorders of the heart and blood vessels".
What is a behavioral risk factor?
As defined by the NCI, a risk factor is "something that increases the chance of developing a disease". Behavioral risk factors, thus, are behaviors that increase the chance of developing a disease. Examples of behavioral risk factors for CVDs include stress, a sedentary lifestyle, poor diet, tobacco use, etc.
